Worship: Passion Sunday

Welcome to Worship at Christ Church Episcopal on Sunday, April 5 - Passion Sunday. Click here for a PDF of the full worship guide or scroll below for the basics: responses and songs.

Presider: Bless the Lord who forgives all our sins.

People: His mercy endures forever.

Presider: Let us pray.

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Hymn: “Kyrie Eleison” Tan

Prayers of the People

With all our heart and with all our mind, let us pray to the Lord, saying, “Lord have mercy.”

Presider: Let us pray to the Lord.

People: Lord, have mercy.

We pray for:
  • The Universal Church, its members, and its mission
  • The Nation and all in authority
  • The welfare of the world
  • The concerns of the local community
  • Those who suffer and those in any trouble
  • The departed
PRESIDER: Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

PEOPLE: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

PRESIDER: Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen.

Thank you for worshiping at Christ Church! All are welcome to a Virtual Coffee Hour at 11:00 AM on Sunday, April 5. Bring your mug and join in for some fellowship with others.

On Monday, April 6 we will publish a Stations of the Cross video experience.
